The wine-growing estate Château Coutet is located in the municipality of Barsac, the neighbouring community of Sauternes. It was already described by U.S. president and connoisseur of wine Thomas Jefferson 1787 as the best one in Barsac as well as at the classification of 1855 classified as Grand Cru Classé.
