The wine-growing estate:
The Bürgerspital wine-growing estate in Würzburg is a modern almost 700 years old leading wine-growing estate obliged to the quality and tradition in franc. The classic types of vine of the region are primarily cultivated on 120 hectares of vineyard. The Bürgerspital is not known only by renowned vineyard locations but also as a birthplace of the Franconian wine bottle, the Franconian bottle original. The wine-growing estate itself is part of the foundation Bürgerspital whose original foundation purpose, the admission of people in need of care and attention, is continued to this day. With any sold bottle of wine the social engagement of the foundation is supported and promoted.
The Bürgerspital is founder member in the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (association of German quality and prädikat-wine estates. The best wine growers of Germany unite in the VDP. To the reconnaissance all classified wines carry the capsule with the grape eagle.
