Article: Calle 23 Reposado
Country: Mexico
Region: Jalisco, Zapotlanejo
Age: Stored in ex Bourbon oak casks for 8 month.
Alcohol: 40%
Characteristics: Centario-Tequila (from 100% blue agave). Double distilled in traditional pot stills.
Colour: Light amber
Taste: Typical taste of cooked agave. Woody as well as also sugar notes, nut flavours and tender, most discreet vanilla, arise from the barrel storage.
Drink recommendation: Excellently for mixing. Wonderful interplay with sweetness and acid, without its character being lost.

The cultivable area for the particularly fruity and sweet agaves for this Calle 23 lies in Zapotlanejo in the eastern highland of Jalisco. The agaves grow there between 7 and 10 years.

This tequila was created by Sophie Decobecq, one of the few female Tequileras in Mexico in a society characterized otherwise traditionally typically male. Sophie, an educated biochemist, has fallen in love at an early age in tequila and the surroundings where it is produced. Her passion belongs to the agave brandy since then. More than 10 years ago she finally emigrated to Mexico to use her passion further.
