Schlumberger Sektkellerei
The Swabian Robert Schlumberger born in 1814 in Stuttgart met his later wife Sophie on a journey on the Rhine. He gave up his employment in Reims and started in Vienna in 1842 to realize his knowledge acquired in the Champagne in a business of his own. The success was not long in coming. For his merits in the winemaking he even was ennoble by the emperor.
