Characteristics: The Airén grapes are distilled cautiously according to a traditional method in copper stills. According to that the distillates mature in barrels made of American oak which contained before finest Oloroso and Amontillado Sherry. Through the long storage and the Solera and Criadera methods young distillates marry with ripe distillates. Carlos I Pedro Ximénez gets an extra finishing in more than 100 years old barrels in which the noblest Pedro Ximénez sherries from the house of Osborne stored before.
Flavour: Caramelized oak notes with sweet flavours of roasted cocoa and liquorice.
Taste: Velvetily soft at the palate with notes of caramelized oak and raisins which lead in an apparently infinite finish.

Carlos I- named after the Spanish king Carlos I (1500 - 1558 also confessed as Karl V.) - does not only have a royal name but is impressive because of his royal quality also. With the Carlos I Pedro Ximénez Osborne underlines its whole workmanship.
