The Benromach Distillery lies at the railway line from Invernes to Aberdeen and was founded in 1898 by Duncan Mac Callum. In the course of the years the owners quite frequently changed. The distillery completely closed on March 24th, 1983. In 1993 it changed into the possession of Gordon & MacPhail which newly conceived the shabby distillery. After a several years of renovation the smallest distillery in the Speyside area opened up again with stills designed especially, a new mash tun and an entirely renewed wash back.
