Angostura is one of the most important rum producers of the complete Caribbean region.
The name 1787 of the exquisite rum reminds of the year of the construction of the first sugar mill in Trinidad at the famous Lapeyrouse sugar plantation. The year 1787 marks the beginning of the unstoppable advancement of the rum production in Trinidad at the same time: For already 10 years later the number of the sugar cane plantations had increased to 159 and Caribbean rum was known in the whole world at the end of the 18th century.
