"Moonshine" also confessed - under the names "White Lightning", "White Dog" or "Mountain Dew", you call alcohol distilled illegally in the USA. During the Prohibition (1919 - 1933) this kind of alcohol was ubiquitous and very popular. Farmers in the whole country (mainly in the area of the Appalachian Mountains) burned these spirits - most made of maize - without a fixed formula or specifications. To not stand out as an illicit distiller, one did without the obtaining of normal glass bottles. One filled the Moonshine into bottling jars. Exactly this honours it today and lets it stand out under all other spirits.
Also today the demand for good "Moonshine" - as at that time- is greater than this what the market supplies. One therefore created the Umbra Moonshine in cooperation with a well-known distillery in the USA to do justice to the demand.
It is very accessible spirits and is produced quite classically from a corn mixture and has everything which agrees on a "Moonshine", even the bottling jar!
