Wine-growing estate: The well-known director Francis Ford Coppola bought a part of the formerly world-famous Inglenook Estate in the Napa Valley in 1979, founded 100 years before by the Finnish captain Niebaum. This had got too small now so that he only produces the flagship wines there. For the other wines he purchased the former chateau sovereign in the Sonoma Valley in 2007 to give them a durable home. The wines are anything but superficial Hollywood asterisks. They have a quite personal note, are full-bodied, perfectly balanced and long lasting.
Wine-growing estate: The well-known director extended his sensors into the neighbouring Sonoma Valley after the success of his Napa Valley wine-growing estate in the year 2007. He purchased the former Château Sovereign wine-growing estate there and improved it. Completely new here is his Director´s Cut series. The expression means in the movie business: This is the film, like it the director has wanted, i.e. without cuts by cinema lenders, TV station etc. And the Director´s Cut wines also shall show unadulteratedly what terroir and vintners wanted to express. All wines come from the Sonoma County. The label is a graphic invention of the 19th century, a Zoetrop which creates the illusion of busy pictures from static.
Vineyard: The grapes for this Zinfandel come from the individual position Dry Creek Valley. The valley is located in the Sonoma County, and is protected by a hill chain from the cool winds. It is a small individual position which is noted particularly for its expressive Zinfandel wines.
