Vintage of 2010

Cool vintage with a lot of rain throughout the year, and late ripening. Luckily the weather became dry and sunny during the harvest, from late September. The intensely botrytised grapes gave delightful wines characterized by a vivacious acidity and good aromatic complexity.

Technical details

Each aszú berry was individually picked from the end of September until the 6th November on the two passages (in the case of Furmint) or three passages (in the case of Hárslevelű) through the vineyard. They were stored in stainless steel until vinification. Around two thirds of the aszú grapes were macerated in new wine for a day. The remaining third was macerated (unpressed) in fermenting must for two, two and a half days. After pressing, the fermentation of the wine was finished in stainless steel. The wine was then aged in oak of 225 litres for two and a half years (around 15 % in new oak). Bottled in July 2013.
