Whisky is an essential component of the Japanese drinking culture. The statement may astonish, but this is historically easy justifying. Already 1923 started Mr. Torii, founder of the company Suntory, with the whiskey production. As he set up the first distillery of Japan in the Yamazaki Valley outside Kyoto, he couldn't foresee in the best dreams, which promising future should have this Whisky series. He introduced his first distillate under the name Shirofuda in 1929. Today Japan is the fourth largest Whisky producer of the world, behind Scotland, Canada and the USA.
