The distillery Neisson is one of the few small distilleries which has come through the 2nd World War. The Neisson brothers Jean and Adrien purchased 20 hectares of land in 1931. Adrien as a manager built a factory with brand-new materials and equipment for the rum production. Jean at first completes his studies and announced Neisson in France. He created a label and the characteristic form of the bottle nickname (: "zêpol karé" (broad shoulder)).
In 1938 he installs a new technology to improve the quality of the rum. After the death of Adrien 1971 Jean takes over the business. As Jean 1986 dies the future seems uncertain since none of the heirs is ready to take over the leadership. In 1995 Jean's daughter Claudine decides, however, to continue the family business and gives up her medical career. She and her son Grêgory Vernant have tackled the modernization of the business and marketing since then.
