Matusalem Solera 7 Blender

The Solera - method of MATUSALEM needs several rows of barrels made of American oak stacked about each other. The oldest barrel row on the ground is called Solera ("the one who lies on the ground"). The rum intended for the sale is always taken from the bottom barrel row.
However, only  a third of the contents at most is taken from every barrel. The taken quantity is refilled from the barrel row about this. In turn this second row is  refilled about this from third row . This principle continues up to the topmost row. The taken quantity there is replaced with young rum now. This way the young rum walks through the system from above to below and is united continuously with the older years. The longer this Blending lasts, the more full of character the result gets. This effortful principle awards Matusalem rum its distinctiveness and guaranteed simultaneously the same top quality remaining about many years.
