The Cortese grapes for this wine grow partly on the slopes around the city of Gavi and on vineyards southern of the city of Alessandria on the mainly whitewash and clayey grounds. They are read from hand.

This wine produced in the agricultural business Cà del Rosso in Monterotondo di Gavi immediately presents itself as first-class wine. The wine preparation is carried out on a traditional way, for the fermentation temperature controlled steel tanks are used.

By much hard work of the winegrower and investments to the wine producers, the Gavi meanwhile become so to speak to a prestige laden wine, the Chablis of Italy.
