By the exclusive bottling by the barrel every bottle almost becomes an unicum and has to be pursued with its barrel number in its individual development.
The Salzburg Tauernroggen (Tauern-rye) is an ancient corn type. It is cultivated traditionally at about 1.000 m of lake height in the alpine mountains climate of the Salzburg Lungau.
Its character corresponds to its origin: Robust, unique in the taste and firm in the flavour.
Over many decades it almost has fallen into oblivion. But now this rye is rediscovered in a special way - as premieres whisky of the distillery rich in tradition, Guglhof.
In the south of Salzburg, in the old town Hallein lies the oldest distillery of the country. The Guglhof was set up in 1641. It is led since generations as a family company.
