The Château Prieuré-Lichine is located in the municipality of Margaux and was place of residence of the renowned wine dealer and book authors Alexis Lichine. He purchased the chateau 1951 and extended it considerably on current 77.5 hectares surface area of vine. He managed it until his death in the year 1989. Today the Groupe Ballande are owners. They engaged Stéphane Derenoncourt as an adviser for the wine development. The wine-growing estate was classified as 4 ième Grand Cru Classé at the classification of 1855.
