Already in the 12th century this satellite of the abbey Clairvaux was founded by Saint Bernhard in Urville. The family tree of the family Drappier reaches back up to the 17th century and they live in these building in meanwhile eighth generation certainly today. The vineyard which surrounds these Cistercian monk cellars today is the pride of the family.

The idea of Rosé Champagne developed Micheline Drappier in the year 1968. He is prepared from 100% Pinot noir and matures in white glass. At that time, this female note was still very rare and experienced a great success only forty years later, it even moved into the Elysee palace.

Maison Drappier is unique in carrying out the prise de mousse, the remuage and the individual disgorgement of every single bottle of every bottle size. Through this traditional technique the wine is guaranteed an exceptional freshness and an exceptional finesse of foam formation.
