| Description: | Intense brightly ruby red colour. In the nose firm flavours of ripe black fruits, together with juicy plums, vanilla and sweetish spices. In the background the typical tasty and earthy nuances. This fragrance variety is reflected concentratedly also at the palate. Elegant, middle body and unbelievably mature, nearly sweet tannins. The juicy sweetish fruit and the tasty notes accompany the long lasting finish. |

Carménère was exported to Chile from France formerly. After a great phylloxera epidemic in Europe this type of vine was, however, never cultivated again in France. Today it is planted only in Chile and called by the Chileans themselves "Chile's national grape".
This Santa Rita Reserva Carménère matured in wooden barrels (first and second fill) of 60% French and 40% American oak for 8 months.
