|Article:||Arran 23 Years Single Malt Whisky 1995 - Kammer-Kirsch Exclusive Cask #200|
|Whisk(e)y type:||Scotch Single Malt|
|Barrel:||Barrel no. 1995/200|
|Flavour:||Cinnamon buns, beeswax furniture polish. The smells of an “old” whisky. A hint of cracked black pepper, candy floss. Classic Arran apple character joins the party somewhere in the background with fresh, ripe pineapple.|
|Taste:||Velvety soft, yet still oily and mouth-coating. Apples jump to the foreground now. Soft woody notes of pine and oak strengthen the palate. Sweet figs and aromas of a barber’s shop – leather and perfume – bring a touch of class.|
|Finish:||We are now getting dried apple crisps, showing a consistent distillery character. Tannins resembling black-tea give a subtle dryness showing the advanced years of this dram. At the last minute crystallised ginger makes an appearance to tempt another sip.
|Special:||Non chill-filtered, natural colour.|
|Number of bottles:||154|
Original Tasting Notes.
Isle of Arran Distillers is one of the few independent whisky companies in Scotland. The distillery is in the village of Lochranza at the northwest top of the Arran island and is placed perfectly to capture the essence of this lovely corner of the island. The gentle mountain spring water and the gentle sea air of the Gulf Stream contribute to the definition of this complex and full-bodied whisky.
With this collection from the year 1995 the Isle of Arran Distillers present impressively a choice of the first barrels which have matured in Lochranza; the jewels of the assortment. These marvellous single barrel whiskies tell the story of the distillery in a liquid story.
