The very first absinth distillery became founded in 1805 by Henri-Louis Pernod.
Pernod Absinth the cult drink with tradition is a spirit with wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium), a nice-smelling plant containing oil and in the 19th century of great popularity. Between 1900 and 1930 Absinth became forbidden because of the high thujone content (more than 80 mg.) . Since 1998 absinth is allowed again in the complete EU with a maximum content.
This scene drink is drunk at one's pleasure:
1st variant: Traditionally celebrated with a piece of sugar on an absinth-spoon or fork. Over this cool water is dribbled so that the sugar dissolves and mixes with the water and absinth.
2nd variant: The sugar is soaked with absinth and switched on. It trickles in a glass with water.
