Colonel James E. Pepper was a legendary bourbon aristocrat. He disputed runnings with thoroughbreds, travelled in a private railway carriage and advertised the world the "Old Fashioned" cocktail. He designated his Whiskey "Old 1776" and announced full of pride that with him the original formula of his grandfather which still dated from the era of the revolutionaries is used. After years of intensive research and a found letter from 1887, in which methods of production and an exact mash composition was listed, the enterprise Georgetown Trading Co. has let the 1776 revive newly. The enterprise started to distil new types of James E. Pepper Whiskey, corresponding to the "old style" of the original whiskeys.
